Welcome Message from Reverend Nobuko Miyake-Stoner
“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” --Micah 6:8
Founded in 1888, Harris United Methodist Church is one of the oldest churches in Hawaii. We are located in the heart of Honolulu at the corner of Vineyard and Nuuanu.
We believe God accepts us just as we are, but loves us too much to leave us where we are. So we always want to expand the horizons of our faith and seek to follow Jesus more faithfully. Through worship, Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and service, we aim to continue to grow spiritually.
Harris Church has a long history of service and outreach. We are strong in putting our faith into action. We strive to extend God’s extravagant hospitality through a variety of service programs. Furthermore, 100% of the proceeds from our annual mission bazaar are given to support human service agencies in Hawaii and around the world.
We are culturally diverse, with at least 8 ethnic groups represented. We are also multi-generational, with emphasis on youth, young adults, and young family ministries. We support each other in times of joy and challenges. We are all in this together!
We have Sunday School for all ages at 9:00 am. Japanese language worship is also at 9:00 am on Sunday. English worship is at 10:45 am. Contemporary worship is at 5:00 pm.
Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey of life, you are welcome here! We want to offer you a spiritual home. Check us out!
With warm aloha,
Nobuko Miyake-Stoner, Senior Pastor |
